Your reply to permission to Use a letter
[edit]Jeff: Thanks for the quick response. The author, former Senator Diane Feinstein, is deceased. Her letter is a response to a question Preston Cook had in a letter to her about whether or not the Bald Eagle had ever been officially designated as the US National Bird. She said it hadn't. There is nothing personal, confidential, or controversial about the topic. In fact, it adds noteworthiness to the subject matter on the Wikipedia post. Tmcfarlandpr (talk) 18:44, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Tmcfarlandpr: You're welcome. Was she a Senator when she wrote the letter? She was in office November 4, 1992 – September 29, 2023. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 20:27, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for your quick response. Sen. Feinstein wrote the letter on Sept. 16, 2011 while she was a sitting senator. She wrote it to Preston Cook, the subject of the wikipedia post. Mr. Cook took the photo of the letter, which is currently on public display as part of the Preston Cook American Bald Eagle Collection at the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN. Simply put, the letter is on public display, Mr. Cook took the photo. And I've submitted his approval to use it. Tmcfarlandpr (talk) 14:35, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Tmcfarlandpr: You're welcome again. We should be able to host it with tag {{PD-USGov-Congress}}, along with whatever license Mr. Cook provides. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 16:34, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- Jeff: Thank you for the approval and the tag info! Mr. Cook has already sent in his license. Tmcfarlandpr (talk) 14:00, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

File:Hahn Beate Anfang 1920er Jahre.jpg
[edit]Hi Jeff, thanks for your messagae. Plaese accept my apologies, I messed up everything with this file. 1. The file has been suggested by somebody else for deletion. 2. I believe his file should be kept as the photo of Beate Hahn has been taken by her husband Franz Hahn who died in 1933. 3. I tried to rename the file since I now know the photo has not been taken in the early 1920ies, but later in that decade. The file should be named Beate Hahn 1920ies.jpg I am not at all familiar with the complex wiki terminolgy an all the abbreviations. Therefore, I would be more than grateful I you could fix this problem for me. Many thanks in advcance for your support. Kind regards Christian40489 (talk) 17:37, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Christian40489: You may mention that problem at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Hahn Beate Anfang 1920er Jahre.jpg, but I don't know if that would affect the outcome. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 20:26, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
"Vandalism" Claim
[edit]Why are you going around and claiming that I "vandalized" by removing a redundant split template, that was from my own file? that was from a rude Chilean IP. Every single edit done by him was targeted towards me, and yet you mark my reverts of their blatant edits as vandalism? That's unreasonable. It would be greatly appreciated if a reply is done. 🗽Freedoxm🗽 (talk) 17:36, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Freedoxm: I did not "go around", I went directly to your user talk page. The split template was not redundant. You reacted badly to two edits with vulgarity. Did you not overwrite those files? What did that IP do that point that you considered rude? You also removed a delete template out of process and closed the DR inappropriately. I stand by my accusation of vandalism. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 20:48, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
- I only reacted with vulgarity with these two edits, because I was deeply frustrated and couldn't get it out of my mind. Vulgarity is not vandalism. I understand that it was probably offensive, but I did not direct it towards anyone, I was just frustrated because right after that the IP added that overwrite template they opened a request asking one of my files to be deleted. On the "inappropriate closing", Why are you defending that IP? All of their edits were harassment towards me. They were warned by another user, but despite that they have decided to randomly delete another file of mine with a similar reason. They called it a useless piece that should be deleted because it was "signed" in a "boring staff meeting". You should have also warned them that their deletion reason was inappropriate too. What reason is there to "split" files that cannot be split? Cut them in half? As you stand by whatever it is, your defense of that IP and siding with them that it was created in a "boring staff meeting" and your defense of my "vandalism", All of that IP and related IP's edits were all towards me, and yet you continue to defend them no matter what. As your result, I will also have to stand by my decision that this was not vandalism. I was just frustrated. 🗽Freedoxm🗽 (talk) 21:01, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Freedoxm: Files are split by taking the new disparate uploads and giving them their own filenames and file description pages. I am defending this project. IPs have just as much right to template and nominate as you do. Perhaps you should not edit while deeply frustrated. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 21:09, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
- I understand, but does it give them the right to personally attack me via the reason by deletion requests? You're giving them the green light to delete whatever image they want and even defend them despite the personal attacks. 🗽Freedoxm🗽 (talk) 21:13, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Freedoxm: They called your sketch stupid, not you personally. That is not a personal attack. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 21:19, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
- Still doesn't give them the right to call it stupid, even if they despise it. 🗽Freedoxm🗽 (talk) 21:20, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

I'm planning to make a similar video, in Vietnamese, for editors of the Vietnamese Wikipedia to watch. I can write down the script based on what the person in the video says and then translate it into Vietnamese. However, since I don't want to use my real voice, I'd like to ask if I can use AI-generated or voice-altered audio for the video. If yes, what tag(s) can I use? Thanks!
